The card did not appear
Try a normal HTTPS article page and highlight no more than 500 characters. Chrome blocks extensions on some internal pages, including chrome:// pages and the Chrome Web Store.

How the extension works
- Choose My language in the extension menu.
- Highlight a word or short passage in any supported language on an HTTPS webpage. WordHalo detects it automatically.
- Review the first-use data disclosure and choose whether to continue.
- Use Translation, Definition, or In Context. When the highlighted text is already in your language, WordHalo opens Definition first.
- Use Close or press Escape to dismiss the card.
Common fixes
A result failed
Check your connection, shorten the selection, and choose Try again. Translation and contextual help also require the WordHalo service to be available.
The language is wrong
Select the intended language from the WordHalo toolbar menu. The extension stores that preference locally and uses it for both the interface and translations.
I do not want text sent
Choose Not now on the disclosure. You can also uninstall the extension or clear its local storage to reset consent.
Data controls
- Optional account: use the account page to export data, remove saved words, or delete the account.
- Extension-only data: remove the extension or clear its storage in Chrome's extension settings.
- Waitlist and anonymous analytics: a public request route is a launch blocker and will be published here before store submission.
