The Chrome extension stores the user's interface language, appearance, saved words and their detected source languages, pronunciation and review details, saved-word highlighting choice, consent version, anonymous installation identifier, limited usage display, and return-state markers on the device. Optional account session information will be stored only if the user chooses to sign in.
Website local storage
The website stores language, appearance, demo preferences, a random analytics identifier that is hashed before any server storage, a per-session record of how the visit arrived (a general category such as “search” or “AI assistant,” any campaign labels from the address bar, and the WordHalo page first opened—never the referring page's address), and—after a waitlist signup—referral progress tokens and links. This storage supports requested product behavior and privacy-conscious measurement rather than advertising.
Service-provider storage
Authentication and bot-protection providers may use technically necessary cookies or equivalent storage to secure a session or verify a form. WordHalo must update this page and add a consent mechanism before introducing non-essential analytics, advertising, or cross-site tracking cookies.
Your controls
You can clear website data in your browser and remove extension storage by clearing the extension's data or uninstalling it. Clearing storage may reset language, consent, referral, and sign-in state.
